Chasing The Horizon

The horizon is the boundary of our vision not the limit of our dreams. Go on, chase the horizon, for just as surely as you will not catch it, so shall you find adventure.

Potpourri

Is it fear? Is it anticipation? Is it anxiety? Or, is it a combination of the three, blended into a potent potpourri that informs my senses of the trepidation I feel as the day of my departure arrives?

As of this afternoon I had not completely made up my mind on the final route and thus the hotels were not booked. There was still a lot of work that I thought I would get done that is not done. There are a bunch of commitments that will have to be moved to the week I get back. There is rain in the forecast in the cities that I will pass through. There is packing still left to be done and a few dishes to be washed.

I think it is fear of the unknown. I know where I am pointing the bike, I just am not yet totally sure on the route I will take to get there. Oh well, adventure it just may turn out to be!!
